Leading provider of voice recognition applications is looking for a Technical Architect to combine skills in technical design, delivery management, team leadership and development to take the leading technical role in designing and delivering solutions. Technical Architects provide experience and judgement across a range of areas, including networking and telephony, the use of J2EE and Microsoft enterprise infrastructure, approaches to standard and bespoke integration, system architecture, software patterns and coding techniques; they share many of the skills of Technical Team Leads and Project Managers and are able to work on their own as the leader of a larger team and in advisory capacity to other teams. Candidates should bring wide, hands-on experience of technical delivery under pressure, strongly output oriented and enjoy delivering code and documentation themselves as well as managing their production by others.
Experience and qualifications: 5 years IT services and software development background, extensive experience with Java development and J2EE infrastructure, deep familiarity with IBM enterprise infrastructure, particularly WAS 4, WAS5, DB2, Websphere MQ and AIX; MS enterprise infrastructure, particularly SQL Server, Windows and all COM based derivatives and related infrastructure and knowledge of formal methodologies, notations and patterns. Experience of telephony infrastructure and VXML platforms including IBM WVR*WVS, Nuance 8 and NVP, SpeechWorks*ScanSoft are highly desirable.
